Weald Inside Out - 12th October |

However, it wasn’t cold and nine turnouts braved the elements and enjoyed the drive that Pete and Rita Flack had marked out for us. There was a long route, about seven and a half miles, and a short route of about four. A visit to Fairbourne Carriages |
|
Jane and Nick Wood and their family hosted us to a most interesting evening at Fairbourne Mill, the home of their carriage restoration business. We were treated to a tour and commentary from Nick, with a brief history and description of the many interesting and rare carriages in various stages of restoration, and also a completed park drag and road coach. This was followed by a sandwich supper and a small raffle. The evening was really well attended by about 40 people of whom quite a few were from the Kipling Group, as well as friends and club members. |
